Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
This policy is provided for general informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice.
My Parenting Compass ("we", "us", "our") provides online parenting courses and related resources. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit this website, purchase a course, or download a free resource, and how that information is used.
1. Who we are
My Parenting Compass is operated by My Parenting Compass (ABN 45 716 189 602). If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, contact us at talithaszigety@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
- Contact details you provide when purchasing a course or downloading a free resource, such as your name and email address.
- Payment information processed securely by Stripe when you purchase a course. We do not collect or store your full card details ourselves — see Section 4.
- Form submissions made through this site (for example, requesting a free resource), collected via our hosting provider, Netlify.
- Basic usage data, such as general analytics about how the site is used, if analytics tools are enabled.
3. How we use your information
- To deliver the course(s) you've purchased, including sending you access instructions and any access code by email.
- To send you the free resource(s) you've requested.
- To respond to enquiries you send us.
- To send occasional emails about our courses or resources, where you've agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To improve this website and the courses we offer.
4. Marketing emails
If you provide your email address when requesting a free resource or purchasing a course, we may send you occasional emails about our courses or related resources, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email includes a clear unsubscribe link, and we action unsubscribe requests promptly. We will not send you marketing emails without your consent, and we don't sell or share your email address with unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Our status under the Privacy Act
My Parenting Compass is a small business based in Queensland, Australia. Many small businesses with an annual turnover of $3 million or less are not required to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), under the Act's small business exemption. Regardless of whether this exemption technically applies to us, we aim to handle your personal information in a manner consistent with the APPs, as reflected throughout this policy.
6. Payment processing
Course payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not store your card number or other full payment details on our own systems. Your payment information is subject to Stripe's own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.
7. Hosting and form submissions
This website is hosted by Netlify, and form submissions (such as free resource requests) are processed through Netlify Forms. Netlify's own privacy practices apply to that processing; see netlify.com/privacy.
8. How we store and protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. Information is only accessible to us and the third-party services named in this policy (Stripe and Netlify).
9. Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with the third parties named in this policy (Stripe, Netlify) as needed to operate the site and deliver your course, or where required by law.
10. Children's information
This website and its checkout process are intended for use by parents and carers, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Course content may be designed for a parent to work through with their child, but no personal information about a child is collected through this website.
11. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us at talithaszigety@gmail.com. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy concern, you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
13. Contact
